If you’re like me, you know that an unorganised morning is where your entire day can come undone. Especially when it comes to making sure your family gets their breakfast! This is why I have 5 on-the-go breakfasts that help me to keep the order when things get busy! What I love about these, is that they’re perfect for all members of the family – even the kids.

Protein Yoghurt and Berries

If you’ve been following me, you know how much I love my protein yoghurt and berries in the morning. You’d also know how much the girls love to steal mouthfuls of it too! Not only is it super easy to throw the yoghurt and berries in a container to-go, but the protein will help to keep you full for longer, helping you keep on top of your day.

Healthy 2-Ingredient Banana Pancakes

My girls love making these pancakes just as much as they love eating them. Not only are they super easy to make, but they’re a naturally delicious source of vitamin b6, fibre, potassium and protein. They can be prepared and stored for an easy on-the-go breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 2 x Eggs
  • 1 x Ripe Banana
  • Optional: Scoop of protein powder

Method:

  1. Peel and mash banana in a bowl until it resembles a paste.
  2. Crack eggs into a separate bowl and whisk (whisk or fork is fine!)
  3. Add eggs to banana and combine.
  4. Use a lightly greased pan on low heat to gently fry pancakes
  5. Serve by themselves, butter lightly or add your favourite toppings such as berries.

Tip: Keep the pancakes small to prevent them falling apart when flipping!

Homemade Breakfast Muesli Bars

Homemade muesli bars are such a great snack idea especially being homemade, at least you know what is in them. I make a batch up on a Sunday and then they are ready to grab on the go throughout the week. I also make a kids version of these by simply removing the protein powder and nuts (if going to daycare).

Smoothie

When it comes to on-the-go meals, the kids love smoothies! Not only is it super easy and portable, you can pack them with so much nutrition to get the best morning start. And for us adults, it’s so easy to add in extra such as protein etc.

Here’s my favourite protein smoothie recipes. Add your favourite protein powder to your own serving for the bonus of higher protein, which keeps you fuller for longer.

Boiled Eggs

There’s so much you can do with a boiled egg, and keeping these guys ready to go in the fridge is an easy way to provide protein and nutrition on the go. Eat by themselves, or grab them to throw in a wholemeal muffin or any pairing you can think of.

My favourite way to have them is sliced onto sourdough toast with avocado and sea salt.

Hope these 5 quick and healthy breakfast ideas help your mornings run smoother. Enjoy!
