We all love to see a good cubby Reno (lets face it, there are pictures all over Pinterest). I have  finally finished the girls cubby house!! Lets just say if this isn’t every little girl dream, I don’t know what is! in this blog I will be taking you through everything I did to take a raw natural wooden cubby and turn it into this!

Firstly I got the Billie Grand Cubby, the kids picnic table and umbrella from Hide & Seek Kids ! They have such amazing cubby houses and so many to choose from! We don’t have the biggest yard but still wanted something that was a decent size and this one was perfect. You can also buy add ons like car ports!

Paint

The cubby comes as raw natural wood so first thing we did was primed it! The primer I used was the Taubmans 3 in 1 Prep and Prime which I applied generously to the raw timber.

I used the Three Birds Renovations as inspiration for this cubby, I just adore their styling! I decided to tone down the grey shade of the walls and stuck with the gorgeous dusty pink door and gold fixtures.

Inspiration from Three Birds Renovations

Paints Used (Taubmans):
Walls: Stormy Shadow 1/4 strength
Floor + Roof: Stormy Shadow (full strength)
Trimmings: Snow Drop
Door: Pink Dust

I purchased the gold window and door knobs from Bunnings! Hide & Seek Kids do provide wooden handles you could spray paint gold as another option.

Interiors

For seating in the cubby I bought small shelves from Kmart and simply turned it on its side! This will not only act as a seat but also storage underneath! I paired this with a couple of cushions from Target and an old blanket we had.

I used this gorgeous hanging shelf and pink tassel for the window from Essentially Raw Designs (you ca use the discount code STEPH15), along with some frames from kmart and cute prints from Little Details Designs.

One of the features inside of the cubby is the IKEA Play kitchen I also renovated! You can check out how I renovated the kitchen here. I wanted to make sure anything I put inside was safe and the kids couldn’t hurt themselves so I got the lightweight plastic potted fake plants from Kmart. The wooden sugar and milk were in a pack from Aldi!
